My work is to explore humans. Stories about humans, such as stories that humans experience while being born and living, individuals and society, encounters and separations, life and death, are unraveled through pictures and objects.
It uses lacquer (ottchil, Japan, varnishing with lacquer) as its main medium and produces works that contain stories in a minimal form and allow people to sympathize with or feel something.
About Us
The central theme running through my work is "relationships." As social beings, we cannot live without relationships. I believe that relationships between people are fluid, and that a mature person shapes them to be both beautiful and harmonious.
But since we are not perfect beings, I believe we must break and shatter ourselves again and again, enduring despair for the sake of a harmonious relationship.
For a beautiful relationship, you need to have faith in yourself, as well as trust and patience for others.
Marion Buber's thought is the root of my work. "You and I can only meet when we devote our entire being. Because of you, I become me and I become you. All true life is encounter." Based on this, I use colored surfaces made up of various colors and materials to depict stories about relationships.
